Sheila Benson founded Employment Screening Services in 1994 and still serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Sheila’s leadership and vision have brought Employment Screening Services’ success and reputation to fruition. As a woman entrepreneur, Sheila has earned extensive honors, including being named as a two-time finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the National Diversity Council’s Top 15 Women in Alabama Business, Top Birmingham Women in 2007 by the Birmingham Business Journal, and the Star Award from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Conference in 2005.
As Chief Operating Officer of Employment Screening Services, Jason Kimbrell’s responsibilities include strategic planning, product development, sales management and tactical implementation. With over 20 years of experience in the background screening industry, Jason has been the driving force in growing Employment Screening Services from a small company servicing a few local clients to a multi-million dollar national company providing background screening services to over 5000 clients. He has been instrumental in keeping Employment Screening Services on the forefront of technology and making key decisions that improve efficiency in all company operations.

Don Williams, Chief Financial Officer began his career as a CPA in Public Accounting with the national accounting firms of Arthur Young and Deloitte & Touche. After a 25 year career with Altec, Don retired and founded JD Williams & Associates, a consulting firm with an emphasis on strategic planning, family businesses and M&A advisory services. In 2011 ESS became a client of JD Williams & Associates. In 2013, Don officially joined ESS as their Chief Strategic Officer and transitioned to Chief Financial Officer role in 2017.
