After college, Tammy came on board as a full-time employee and buyer. In 1987 Tammy’s parents retired and Tammy became the new owner. Beginning in 1990 Tammy saw a need for more work-related footwear, so she focused on safety and work boots and less on fashion footwear. During the next seven years, the business acquired many safety shoe customers. In 1997 Tammy and her Father purchased the property from the City of Attalla on Hwy 77 and built a larger facility. Still, the main focus was safety and work footwear.
With the growing automotive industry in the south, Tammy purchased a 24 ft. truck and put the business on the road with safety shoe-mobile service. The business kept growing and in 2005 Tammy added another truck, this time a 28ft International and 2000 square feet to the facility. Along with this growth required more employees. Anderson’s now travels the State of Alabama and some in Georgia offering safety shoes of all makes and styles that are all OSHA approved footwear.
