Barbara McCrary
PRESIDENT, MECHANICAL ENGINEER, LEED AP BD+C
Barbara H. McCrary, PE – Barbara earned both a Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama. Prior to joining HHB Engineers, McCrary worked at a mechanical consulting firm in Atlanta, GA. She became President of HHB Engineers in June of 2014.
Barbara has experience on a variety of projects including major renovations, historic buildings, LEED certified projects, college and university projects, detention facilities, office buildings, military projects, data and communications facilities, athletic facilities, and Prime AE project management for university and military clients. Both as Prime AE and Consultant, Barbara’s projects often involve complex phasing where the building will remain occupied and/or systems can only be down during limited periods. McCrary has extensive experience with whole building energy modeling for as part of integrated design practices, and for submission on LEED projects.
Tom L. Hattemer, P.E.
VICE PRESIDENT, MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Tom Hattemer, PE founded HHB Engineers, P.C. in 1983, and has been involved in the building construction consulting engineering field since 1981. He has been an integral part of HHB being recognized as a premier engineering firm in Alabama. Mr. Hattemer has provided project management for several client relationships including government agencies (GSA, Navy, VA and Corps of Engineers) and the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa main campus and Birmingham Campus (UAB). He has a proven record of managing mechanical and electrical renovation contracts for these clients. Mr. Hattemer provides innovative engineering solutions with emphasis on constructability, energy efficiency, and ease of maintenance.
Wesley D. Sherer, P.E., CxA
MECHANICAL ENGINEER, LEED GREEN ASSOCIATE
Wesley Sherer, PE is a Principal and Mechanical Engineer at HHB Engineers, P.C, joining the company in the fall of 2009. Mr. Sherer comes to HHB with previous HVAC and mechanical design experience in Nevada and Kentucky. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2003. Sherer became a Principal of HHB Engineers in June of 2014.
Wesley has worked on a wide variety of project types throughout his career including office buildings, K-12 schools, college and university projects, jail and prison facilities, healthcare facilities, military installations, religious facilities, data centers and mission-critical facilities, automobile and heavy equipment dealerships, residential high rise buildings, libraries, casinos, industrial buildings, historic renovations, etc. He was also involved with various projects at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas including a roof replacement of the A,B, & C Gates and the Central Terminal. Wesley has also been involved in the design of multiple projects seeking LEED accreditation.
