As President of Hyde Engineering, a certified woman-owned DBE, Liz manages all aspects of project management including design, cost estimation, construction administration, proposals, survey analysis and much more. She earned her bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1983 and her master’s in Civil Engineering from UAB in 2009. She founded Hyde Engineering in 1995 and during her career she has designed, managed, and/or coordinated more than 2000 projects ranging from small renovations to new multi-building complexes. She was recently appointed by the Governor of Alabama to serve as a member of the Alabama Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and is the current president of the UAB Engineering Advisory Council. Other society memberships include: ACEC, NFPA, IES, SBCCI, IEEE, and ICC.



Russell T. “Rusty” Hyde, P.E. 

Senior Engineer


Rusty joined Hyde Engineering in 1996 as Chief Engineer. He manages all aspects of the project process, including interfacing between the client, vendor, design professionals, and construction teams. He ensures that all technical objectives and budget guidelines are met and provided according to schedule. Rusty earned his bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1983 and earned his master’s in Electrical Engineering from UAB in 2007. Prior to his joining the firm Rusty served as a navigator in the United States Air Force. During his 18 years of progressive electrical engineering experience Rusty has managed more than 1000 projects ranging from small renovations to new facility construction. He specializes in the areas of security, fire alarms, data/voice and computer systems for institutional, scientific, and technical facilities.

David Morrow 

Senior Electrical Designer


As senior electrical designer for Hyde, David manages the entire project process including interface between the client, vendor, design professional and the construction team. He has more than 30 years experience in designing electrical systems for institutional and commercial facilities. Projects include office buildings, hospitals, educational facilities, banks, museums, athletic facilities single and multi-level retail centers, government and criminal justice facilities.
