Principals/Owners/Key Leadership Team

  Susan is the President of Best Practice Associates, Inc. A lifetime certified teacher and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, she has been teaching and practicing for over 43 years. Susan provides professional development, staff development and consults in Head Starts, Early Childhood Centers, schools, and districts across the United States. Her love for working with adults and children led her to consulting and coaching. Her career started as a classroom teacher in a middle school, then to full-time teaching at the college level as a full-time Instructor at Xavier University of New Orleans and as an Adjunct Instructor at LSUHSC School of Allied Health and Delgado Community College. She also served as the Executive Director of Chinchuba Oral School for the Deaf leading teachers at the Preschool through 4th grade levels servicing oral students utilizing cochlear implants and hearing aids. Her passion is developing listening and oral skills for young children just beginning their journey wearing cochlear implants, as well as helping teachers become the best they can be.

     Susan received her B.S. at Louisiana State University and her Masters of Communication Disorders (M.C.D.) at LSU Medical Center (currently LSUHSC). She has completed an Internship in the Auditory-Verbal philosophy for Hearing Impaired students, and has done extensive training in Dyslexia and educational diagnostics of learning disorders. She is a former LANGUAGE! ® Trainer, "Read Well" Trainer, "Step Up to Writing" Trainer, and "Trans Math" Trainer.
