Laurie began her working career within the insurance property and casualty industry as a sales producer. After 10 years, she transitioned into the health and wellness industry. Laurie worked her way up from an independent sales rep to managing teams of over 70 employees. In 2003, Laurie took the leap of faith and opened a successful day spa. In 2007, a tremendous opportunity was presented, which included relocating from New Jersey to Tennessee. Gaylord Opryland recruited Laurie to bring her family to Tennessee to come manage their multi-million dollar spa/salon, fitness center and indoor/outdoor pools. Laurie believed that the area would bring a better quality of life for her family. She sold her day spa and moved to Franklin, TN. Laurie often jokes that was she was a “Southern Girl” at heart but just didn’t know it.
In 2011, personal life changes required Laurie to find a new career path that would eliminate working nights and weekends so she would be close to home, maintain a controlled work schedule, and provide a secure home life as a single working mom. She joined Regus Management and, through their business support model, acquired the training and insight needed to recognize the great need many businesses have for executive administrative tasks, special services, and sales a marketing. Virtual Assistance highlighted Laurie’s passion and strengths to help businesses become [more] successful. Laurie freelanced for over 4 years and in 2014 launched The Inside Story, LLC. Her expertise in the field and her passion for serving others marry perfectly to create a unique VA business model.
