Shannon Riley
As the founder and CEO of One Stop Environmental (OSE), Shannon Riley is responsible for the leadership, strategy and technical foundation of the company. Started in 1999 as an emergency response business, Riley has grown OSE to be a premier woman owned full-service environmental company based in the Southeast and serving the entire continental U.S.
With an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Furman University and a Masters of Chemistry from the University of Alabama, Riley brings over 20 years of experience to the field. She is a past Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM, 2004) master level and oversees programs in the Southeast and Northwest.
Through her background in chemistry and her strong management expertise, Riley has led One Stop Environmental to be one of the fastest growing companies in Alabama and the country ranking on the Inc. 500 and ICIC 100. Riley serves on the board of Rev Birmingham, Southern Research Advisory Board, the College of Arts Leadership at the University of Alabama, Christ Health Center and Innovation Depot. She is a member of the Woodlawn Business Association, Kiwanas Club and several other professional and civic organizations. Shannon enjoys spending time in Montana hiking, fishing, snow skiing and enjoying the stars with her husband Richard and their four children.
Liza Sherrer
Liza Sherrer has been working in the waste management and emergency response field for almost 27 years as a field chemist, project manager and senior project manager. Her experience ranges from operating equipment to managing a multi-disciplined field crew during a major emergency response activity. Liza is well versed in chemical waste management, chemical ID, lab packing, waste stream identification & profiling, 90-day hazardous waste storage facility management, industrial environmental maintenance and hazardous waste transport & disposal. She has personally overseen thousands of tons of hazardous waste in her career, ensuring efficient and safe transport & disposal and cradle to grave management.
In the past nineteen years, Liza has served in various capacities at industrial facilities throughout the South East such as US Steel Co., Norfolk Southern Railroad, US Pipe and others. She has also performed duties as project manager for numerous Federal Government clean-up sites including work with USACE Mobile (Tuscaloosa,) USACE Memphis, US Air Force, US Army, EPA and US Navy.
Tyson serves as a Senior Accountant for One Stop Environmental and its related entities providing oversight of various accounting, payroll, and cash flow management functions within the combined organization. Tyson graduated from the University of Alabama in 2004 with a degree in accounting and a minor in computer science. During his ten years working in accounting Tyson’s biggest career accomplishments include assisting a small business successfully transition from one office to six offices, being a part of that same business’ $5 million to $13 million revenue growth in under 4 years, and building strong relationships in the construction industry that have opened the door to a variety of job experiences.
Tyson’s wife Crystal in an assistant principal of an elementary school and when he isn’t busy here at OSE, he is serving as her number one volunteer at every event. He also enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and supports the Children’s Hospital “Child of Children’s” campaign each year. Tyson attends Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Guntersville, AL where he has a farm that his young family loves spending time on.
